สมาคมการค้าเมล็ดพันธุ์ไทย ร่วมกับ USDA, CropLife, Asia Pacific Seed Alliance (APSA) และ International Seed Federation (ISF) จัดการสัมมนา เรื่อง Field Inspection Accreditation Workshop เมื่อวันที่ 26 พฤศจิกายน 2567 ณ โรงแรมอนันตราสยาม กทม. โดยมี ดร.พงศ์ไท ไทโยธิน รองอธิบดีกรมวิชาการเกษตร ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดงาน ซึ่งวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดงานครั้งนี้เพื่อส่งเสริมและพัฒนาการรับรองความสามารถผู้ตรวจแปลงผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์ของประเทศไทย ยกระดับการผลิตและส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์คุณภาพสูงของไทยสู่ตลาดโลกให้เติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่อง ปัจจุบันไทยมียอดส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์มากกว่า 10,000 ล้านบาท การตรวจแปลงผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์พืช มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการผลิตและส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์เพื่อการออกใบรับรองสุขอนามัยพืช ตามเงื่อนไขการค้าระหว่างประเทศ กรมวิชาการเกษตรในฐานะเป็นผู้ตรวจสอบควบคุมกำกับดูแลกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวกับการผลิตและส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์ เล็งเห็นความสำคัญในการอำนวยความสะดวกการผลิตและส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์ เพื่อประโยชน์ต่อเกษตรกรและผู้ส่งออกเมล็ดพันธุ์ ด้วยการส่งเสริมการเพิ่มจำนวนเจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจแปลงผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์ ที่มีคุณสมบัติและความสามารถตามมาตรฐานสากล ให้เพียงพอสอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์การค้าเมล็ดพันธุ์ และเป็นที่ยอมรับของประเทศคู่ค้าเมล็ดพันธุ์ของไทยภายใต้นโยบาย “ตลาดนำ นวัตกรรมเสริม เพิ่มรายได้” ที่จะต่อยอดศักยภาพของไทยในการพัฒนาประเทศไทยเป็นศูนย์กลางเมล็ดพันธุ์พืชและพันธุ์พืชเขตร้อนของโลก (Tropical Seed Hub)
The Thai Seed Trade Association, in collaboration with the USDA, CropLife, Asia Pacific Seed Alliance (APSA), and International Seed Federation (ISF), organized a seminar on the “Field Inspection Accreditation Workshop” on November 26, 2024, at the Anantara Siam Hotel in Bangkok. Dr. Pongthai Taiyothin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, presided over the opening ceremony.
The objective of this event was to promote and develop the accreditation of seed field inspectors in Thailand, enhancing the production and export of high-quality seeds to the global market. Currently, Thailand’s seed exports exceed 10 billion THB. Seed field inspection is crucial for the production and export of seeds to obtain phytosanitary certification in accordance with international trade conditions.
The Department of Agriculture, as the regulatory body overseeing seed production and export laws, recognizes the importance of facilitating seed production and export for the benefit of farmers and seed exporters. This is achieved by promoting the increase in the number of qualified seed field inspectors who meet international standards, aligning with the seed trade situation, and gaining acceptance from Thailand’s seed trading partners.
Under the policy of “Market-led, Innovation-driven, Income-boosting,” this initiative aims to leverage Thailand’s potential to develop into a global hub for tropical seeds and plants (Tropical Seed Hub).
